John
Black MSc - Molecular Biology Manager
John joined Vitrology as Molecular Biology Manager in June 2007,
and comes with a wealth of Molecular Biology experience gained from
over 12 years employment in the CRO industry. After graduating from
the University of Abertay with a MSc in Biotechnology, John started
his employment at Q-One Biotech in 1995 and progressed through a
variety of management and technical roles in Invitrogen, BioReliance
and Q-One Biotech. John played a key role in the development and
implementation of quantitative PCR and PERT services for the testing
of biological products. John has an excellent technical expertise
of high throughput real time PCR chemistries and technologies. He
has comprehensive knowledge in the design, development, optimisation
and validation of real time PCR assays, and has developed excellent
troubleshooting skills with regards to these technologies within the
biosafety testing environment. He also has comprehensive experience
in the research, design, development, optimisation and project management
of automated sequencing projects to GLP for regulatory submission.
He has a thorough understanding and knowledge of maintaining effective
management, performance and reporting of a range of client derived
routine and customised assays to GLP. |
