Richard Adair PhD - Virology Manager
Richard graduated in 1994 from University of Edinburgh with a BSc
(Hons) degree in Immunology, and subsequently worked (1994 –
1998) with Procter & Gamble Technical Centres, based in Staines,
as a Clinical Research Manager. He managed Clinical Studies (primarily
phase II) in a number of UK, European and international locations,
including sites in North America, and in Beijing and Guangzhou in
the Peoples Republic of China. As part of this position Richard
was exposed to GLP, and GMP product manufacture, and as part of
international training undertook a 6 month assignment at the Procter
& Gamble Health Care Research Center, Cincinnati, Ohio where
he was involved in conducting clinical studies and standardisation
of SOPs. Richard returned to academia in 1998 and graduated in 2002
from University of Glasgow with a PhD in Virology. From 2002-2005
he then undertook a 3-year post-doctoral position in Virology at
Children’s National Medical Center, Washington D.C. In early
2005 he returned to the UK to undertake a position as an Investigator
Scientist at the MRC Virology Unit in Glasgow, working under Containment
level 3 conditions with Hepatitis C. Richard has broad training
in Virology, is well published and has presented at several international
conferences on Virology topics. He joined Vitrology in August 2007
as Virology Manager. |
