Archie Lovatt PhD
Archie joined Vitrology as a Founder in 2007 and provides
regulatory consultancy and scientific direction to Vitrology. In
his previous position as Scientific Director of Invitrogen Bioservices
he was successful in many areas. He pioneered the development and
implementation of quantitative PCR and PERT services for the testing
of biological products. During his 11 years with this company he
built several highly successful development, validation and operational
teams and was critical to implementing the Q-One Biotech and BioReliance
R&D pipeline over the past decade.
Until
2005, he focused on molecular biology and virology
divisions, and also in the routine lot release testing operations
under GLP/cGMP compliance. Thereafter he played a key role in technical
regulatory services, business development, and in the strategic
direction of the Invitrogen Bioservices R&D pipeline.
Prior
to his bio-industrial career Archie held positions in academia.
In 1990, he graduated from University of Glasgow with a BSc in microbiology.
He then worked at the Medical Sciences Institute, University of
Leicester researching the genetic analysis of microbial virulence
factors, and graduated with a Ph.D in molecular microbiology. In
1994, he was awarded a post doctoral fellowship at the Cancer Research
UK Beatson Institute to genetically dissect transcriptional factors
and investigate their role in central nervous system cellular differentiation.
Archie
provides excellent knowledge in R&D, assay development, scientific
operations, technical regulatory affairs, business development and
the identification of technology trends to meet customer requirements. |
